Putting the Dream in Dream Works Construction
Dream Works has proven they can build the home of anyone's dreams.

The first thing I noticed when touring a variety of homes built by Dream Works Construction was how different each one was from the others. From a home serving as a bachelor’s sophisticated retreat to one that has plenty of room for the family, Dream Works has proven they can build the home of anyone’s dreams.

Jimmy Mitchell, who is married to Kim and has two children Jesse, 4, and Jersey, 2, has been a builder for five years, building 42 homes in the community since leaving his career in sales. He works to customize the home to the property and surroundings first and foremost, but then focuses on the homeowner’s character and desires, maintaining close relationships with his clients.

“Clients incorporate their wants and needs into what we think is important,” Jimmy says. “We want the home to fit the family and the area.”

Howard Anderson, a former screenwriter from Los Angeles, bought his Dream Works home in 2004, and while he didn’t work with Jimmy on the design or building of the home, what he bought was exactly what he wanted. The home is open, with a great room highlighting the kitchen, dining room and living room. The cabinetry made from Warmy Maple provides extra space throughout the spacious kitchen, and pine beams add stature to the rooms. Intricate tile work draws the eye immediately when you enter through the front door, and Howard’s extensive collection of art from around the world fit well into the home, making it a bit of a masterpiece with help from both builder and owner.

“High ceilings and extra light coming into the rooms is what makes the house,” Howard says. “I didn’t realize it was everything I wanted until I moved in, then it just all fit.”

Right down the road from Howard’s sits another home Jimmy built, and without knowing ahead of time, you would never guess the builder is the same. The custom home resembles the Tuscan look that is so inviting, but inside, the large kitchen draws every bit of attention. Large picture windows strategically placed beyond the dining room overlook the Mesilla Valley past a large dining room table.

“This house was built with open space and a huge kitchen,” Jimmy says. “There is enough room to have the whole family over and to set everyone down at the table for Thanksgiving dinner.”

The home even provides those little things you may not think about when building a home for a large family – nooks and crannies where you can get away for just a moment. In the master bedroom, just past the double-sided fireplace, you’ll find a separate sitting room. The master bathroom is large but separated as it wraps around a vanity; just more fine examples of the diversity in Dream Works homes.

Jimmy, and all those a part of Dream Works Construction, are hands-on when it comes to building. From designing the home to painting the walls, Jimmy does little contract work outside of his company.

“We are involved through the entire process,” Jimmy says. “It’s important as a builder to be there as a house goes up, to be a part of it.”

While watching the home through the entire construction process, Jimmy always focuses on two things – elaborate tile work (which he designs with the homeowners then offers the work to sub-contractors) and superior woodwork. Those are the types of attention to detail and ability to build based on a homeowners desires that lead to Dream Works Construction building the home of your dreams.
